Tofino, Vancouver Island, British Columbia
Bedwell Place, 2600 Sq. Ft. Vacation Rental
Bedwell was completed in the year 2000 and is located on the main highway only a few blocks from the downtown core of Tofino. Bedwell overlooks the inside waters of Clayoquot Sound and has magnificent views. Bedwell is approx. 2600 sq.ft. and contains 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 covered decks, 2 patios, 3 fireplaces and a 7 person hot tub. Bedwell exterior is west coast with cedar siding and forest green metal clad roof. The landscaping is very low maintenance and consists of shrubs and rock gardens.
The present zoning of the property is residential, however, the new official community plan of Tofino, designates the property where Bedwell is located as gateway commercial and all the properties adjacent to Bedwell are already zoned commercial. A rezone of this property would allow future expansion and add significant value. Because of the great visual exposure that Bedwell offers, it is a very good location for a commercial enterprise and it does have the potential to be rezoned for other commercial uses.
Visitors to Clayoquot Sound come from all over the world to enjoy our beautiful and unpolluted environment. Activities include whale watching, bear watching, hiking the rain forest, surfing and walking the endless sand beaches, world class fishing for salmon-halibut-trout, crabbing and dinning in Tofinos gourmet restaurants.

Canada Horse Lodge For Sale
Built on three levels to maximize views and hillside landscaping, this large home is one of the most unique in the Kootenays. At today’s wood prices, it would cost over $1,000,000.00 to rebuild just the house alone, yet the whole property is now available at close to one-half that cost. A death in the family has necessitated selling this magnificent home to some lucky family. It is situated on 3 acres of land, fully fenced with galvanized steel horse fencing that would cost $50,000.00 to replace. So, there you have it! The value, the unique design and the views few have the chance to own.

Glenora, British Columbia
Exceptional, Scenic 100 Acre Homestead
Here’s an awesome change for anyone who has had enough of the rat race. Piedmont Farm is located in Glenora, 20 kms downriver from Telegraph Creek, BC, in the remote and pristine Stikine River valley just below the Grand Canyon of the Stikine. The Stikine River flows out of BC through the Alaska panhandle at Wrangell, AK.
This 100 acre property is in a rain shadow directly behind the 10 000` coast range at 700` above sea level. The valley has hospitable weather moderated by the Pacific coastal influence, making it the Okanagan of the far north, capable of producing excellent gardens and soft-fruits. The dry open hillsides leap to 7 & 8 000` peaks and the scenery is so dramatic that John Muir called it “a Yosemite one hundred miles long”. It is difficult to appreciate the place without a visit and I encourage you to come and have a look.
This property was homesteaded in 1976 with sustainability in mind and the development on the property reflects the idea of living comfortably in the wild with a fully modern recently-renovated home, high speed wireless internet, year-round micro-hydro power, and electricity to barn, mechanic shop, and guesthouse.
The main house is 2000 sq. ft., with 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, a sauna, weightroom, and large office. The kitchen-livingroom is an open floor plan with new hardwood flooring and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lawns and gardens. The sauna, weightroom, laundry, and rootcellar/cold-storage areas occupy half the basement and the other half is open for wood storage, small shop space, and covered storage. The micro-hydro turbine system is backed with diesel-generated power located in a separate outbuilding.
The guesthouse is a fully serviced mobile home with large add-on. The original log homestead cabin still stands with a magnificent view of mountains and meadow. There is a campsite on the creek near the homestead cabin, which is a lovely quiet setting away from the main complex.
The farm is fenced and cross-fenced with livestock pasture and 3 barns for animals and hay storage. The hay meadow has a pond and produces good quality hay even in dry years, as it is sub irrigated from the 2 glacial-fed creeks that bound the farm on 2 sides.
If you are interested in this most remarkable property, please e-mail me at mistevens@gmail.com and I will send you a group of pictures. We are asking $338,000, which is very reasonable considering all the development on this property.

The Resort itself is 17 acres with over 1650 feet of waterfront and is the only property on the lake. You and your guests have exclusive access to Finger Lake. Guests have a choice of four rustic, cozy, lakeside log cabins located on the shoreline of Finger Lake, one large cottage or one of the 12 RV sites. The septic system has been certified by a soil-engineering firm from Prince George, as well as the local Government Health Inspector from Vanderhoof.
The Power System is a generator, inverter, and battery system. Energy is stored in 12 - 2-volt battery cells with a Trace Inverter managing the system. The batteries each weigh 250 lbs (fork-lift style) and were purchased in January of 2005. They have life expectance of 10 years. The main generator is a 10KW Deutz 2 cylinder diesel. The backup generator is a seldom-used 2-3 years old 10kw Miller arc welder, and runs on gasoline. They are both wired into the Trace Inverter with a simple A-B switch. The Deutz generator electrical portion was rewound in October 2003 and Engine Rebuilt January 2006.
Finger Lake is approximately 5.6 miles long by 1.5 miles wide, (9 kms x 5.5 kms), 877 hectares in area and over 20 miles of shoreline. For the more adventurous, there are 3 waterfalls in the area and many hiking trails.
In the fall there is hunting for white tail deer, mule deer, black bear, and moose. Finger Lake is at the junction of 4 Management Units and the resort is very busy at this time of year We are located in management unit (MU) 7-11, and at the junction of 7-11, 7-12, 6-1 & 5-13, giving the resident hunter every option for great moose hunting. All of the MU’s of course have a limited entry hunt (LEH) option for resident hunters, but 7-11, and 7-12 also have an open season for Immature Bull Hunts and Cow LEH. Calf is also open in 7-11 & 7-12. We then have the open bull moose week in late October in MU’s 6-1 & 6-4.
The Finger-Tatuk Provincial Park was created in 1999 and we were issued a 30-year Park Permit which is renewable in June of 2029. It is not unusual for resorts in BC to have a lease or park permit. The Provincial Government is very business orientated and supportive towards tourism operators. They hope to have more tourism accommodation in other BC Parks by the 2010 Olympics.

Unfortunately, health problems are the reason we have this beautiful place for sale. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
We feel one of our repeat customers testimonials describes this unique resort best. This family has visited twice a year for the past number of years.
Their description follows:
For those of you who enjoy the natural outdoor activities, this affordable resort is worth a visit. For our family it is the 2nd consecutive year that we have found ourselves settled comfortably within the rustic log walls of Cabin 1 "The Wolf Den", 30-40 feet from the beautiful blue lake. The quiet is calming, broken occasionally by the haunting cry of the loons in one of the many bays that make up the lake. Ducks visit often, the white tips of their bottoms showing as they enjoy the underwater delicacies that suit their palate. The morning mist that encompasses the lake like a gossamer blanket evaporates quickly as the September sun climbs high in the azure sky. It makes you long to immerse yourself in its cool waters. The cow moose and her calf make their appearance at the edge of the west end of the lake several mornings and the fellows gather round enjoying the scene and wishing some big bull would wander by too.
Evenings are not to be outdone by the clear crisp air of the daytime as the sun settles down for the night; . . . it is like someone pulls back the stage curtains and the stars take over the darkened dais of the sky. Illuminating a sky where there are no artificial lights from manmade cities, it feels like you could just reach out and touch them. Then, the main actor for which the North is famous for takes to the stage and the green pulsating, undulating lights of the North take over and fill the sky with their breathtaking performance-----never the same---always original. Almost like stars worshiping the creator it fills your heart with praise for the mighty God who could orchestrate all that we enjoy.
After the evening performance we stoke up the wood stoves cranking out the warmth for the rustic abode and crawl between the covers for a refreshing nights sleep where no sirens or neighbors parties can disturb us. Wouldn't life be beautiful if everyday was like the one we just experienced......... it is the contrasts in life that teach us appreciation for the return to simplicity that is what this resort is all about.
It takes us about 12 hours of travel to reach this resort. The roads are pavement except the last 1 hour of the trip where a well maintained logging road is your path. The resort is run by a very friendly couple Wayne and Corinne Koftinoff and their 2 companions Blue and the Tramp. They will welcome you and share their experiences yet give you your space to relax because that is why they bought the resort in the first place. Bring your own bedding, towels and food and the rest is provided with the cabin.
There are 11 campsites and 4 cabins that accommodate 2-6 people each. There is a horseshoe pit, bocce game, swing set and lots of room for the younger members of the family. Boat launching is provided with the accommodation although there are canoes, boats, and belly-boats for rent as well. Free hot showers and firewood are provided. Each year brings new changes and improvements and we look forward to see what next year will bring to this rustic resort.

Lasqueti Island, British Columbia
Boat Building Lumber And Started Boat For Sale
Backbone assembly for 34 foot double ended round-bilged live aboard wooden motorsailer, bilge keels, junk rig, designed for the Georgia Straight. Naturally curved fir stempost, fir keel, sternpost and timbers. 800 lb lead keel and gumshoe attached, floor timbers started. Straight and true, built strong for repeated grounding ability, (no wharfage required!) Bronze fastened. Non-poisonous borax-type wood preservative. Very moveable right now. Send email address for descriptive article and lines, published in THE BOATMAN, Feb. 1995.
Probably 6000 board feet of clear, edgegrain, old growth, air dried, well stickered, red and yellow cedar, mostly from beachcombing which gives it that extra edge. Cut in cants to the scantlings for the above boat, some red cedar still in larger cants. Lengths up to 22 ft. Large collection of natural crooks and knees.
$5 a bd ft on Lasqueti, $7 off Lasqueti. I would prefer to sell it as a kit, and would include the backbone assembly, the knees and some nice goodies, including a bolt of sailcloth, internal lead ballast ingots, a curved bronze stem iron salvaged off an Aleutian Island beach and carried around the south seas for some years, and so on. Depending on how the lumber pile measures up, I’d guess the kit price would be in the neighbourhood of $30 to$35 g (Canadian)
The thing to do would be to buy the whole shebang, cream the pile for this boat, and then sell the rest to get your cruising stash. The wood is like gold these days, only probably more rare. Or you could build another boat, or many kayaks.

Port Hardy, Vancouver Island, British Columbia
34.4 Treed Acres With Mobile Home, Guest Cabin On Old Homestead
Our home is located in Quatsino, on the northwest end of Vancouver Island located in Quatsino Sound.
The property is a two-min walk from the ocean; the land gently slopes for good drainage. There is a creek that flows year round for water supply, possibly for a water wheel.
A 1991 Royale Mobile and a 20ft X 30ft guest cabin are set amongst a old homestead therefore surrounded by beautiful flowers, shrubs & trees.
We have fell some of the trees for more sunshine on the garden and have milled the trees for lumber to make a 15ft X 30ft glass greenhouse, two wood sheds and a covered area for our sawmill. We started a fishing/accommodations charted business, as there is a great interest with tourists for salt water fishing, kayaking, diving.
A perfect place for a home business via computer (satellite now, working on broadband). The area offers so much beauty and fun. The community has a post office, an elementary school celebrating 100 yrs of public education this year, a church, firehall and a government dock, and there are no stores in Quatsino.
There is water access or float plane access, most homesteads have their own boat but there is a water taxi service available. It is a 15 min water ride (depending on boat) to Coal Harbour and a 20 min drive to Port Hardy for all your town needs. There is potential for a small airstrip on the property.
Quatsino is a remote paradise but really not that far from civilization. If you enjoy peace, nature, the outdoors, bird watching, fishing, the ocean, and watching the stars in a pitch-black evening with no light interference than we have what you are looking for.
Please note: -sawmill is negotiable as it is portable; property has endless possibilities such as exportable timber; property can be subdivided and farming is available.
The property is located in a very moderate climate.
